Fun at Butlins

Hello! Back in April, my Mom and I took the girls to Butlins for a long weekend whilst their bedroom at home was being decorated. We had such a fantastic time and the girls loved it! I thought I would scrap a page of my daughter Annie wearing one of the hats from the Butlins shop. Apologies for the poor photography and lighting, this is definitely something I need to work on! I chose the colour theme of red and white (the same as the hat) but also added in some grey (the colour of her coat). I can't decide whether to add some journalling to the bottom left hand corner of the page so I have left it for the time being.
I went to a scrapbooking crop yesterday in Solihull and really enjoyed it. I managed to create 3 pages (although I'm not sure if they are all finished yet)! I definitely need to add to my scrapbooking stash so I'm off to Malvern at the end of the week to visit Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn.

Summer time!

Good evening everybody! This week I bought Quick Cards magazine and in there is a competition to win paper stacks from DCWV. To enter you have to send in a card using your most colourful summer papers so I decided to use pink and orange as my colour theme. I also used a new Prima doll stamp which I bought last week and had not yet had time to use. So I'm going to send my card to them and keep my fingers crossed!

Mini album

As well as card making and scrap booking, I also enjoy making mini albums especially to give as gifts. I made this 'Princess' album for a relative's 1st birthday. Each page represents a different month of her first year and I included as many photographs as possible. I made the album from cardboard and a template so it did take quite a while. Hope you like it!
I managed to squeeze in a quick trip to Hobbycraft today and picked up a few nice additions to my crafty stash! I'll be using them over the next few weeks on my crafty makes so watch this space.

Summer memories part 2

Good afternoon all! Here's a photograph of the scrapbook page that I created using the same range of papers as yesterday's page. These photographs of me and my girls were taken at Thomasland a few months ago. We had a brilliant time so the 'Best Day Ever' sentiment was perfect for this page. I cut out squares of different papers and rounded the edges before sticking them onto the 12x12 paper. I'm still not sure whether to add some writing to this page to explain where the photographs were taken and what a fun day we had. Hope you like it.
Last night I finally found time to play with my new Prima doll stamp which I absolutely love so hopefully I will be able to share a finished card tomorrow. Have a good evening! x

Summer memories

I know we don't seem to be having much of a summer at the moment but when I came across these two photographs taken last year they reminded me of summer days spent in the garden with my girls. I love the colours of these papers and added the glittery silver lettering for that 'bit of bling!'. I chose not to add any journalling to the page as I wanted to keep it simple.

Proud of my canvas!

Good evening! Tonight as promised I am sharing the photo of the canvas that I created at the workshop last week. As I mentioned in my last post, I really enjoyed using the Pan Pastels and will definitely be buying some of these in the not so distant future! I've just got to find somewhere to hang the canvas in my house now!

Scrapbooking is fab!

Hello! Oops, I've just realised that it has been a whole month since I last posted! Things are really busy at work as we are approaching the end of the teaching year but I am trying to find as much time as possible to craft. Last week I attended an amazing workshop at Pink Tulip Creations in Studley. We created a canvas using JOFY stamps and Pan Pastels (both of which I have not used before but absolutely loved!!). I think I'll be adding them both to my crafty wish list. I'll share a photo of my canvas tomorrow.
On to today's photos and I have mentioned in my blog that I have been doing some scrapbooking as I absolutely love taking photographs and want to create some albums for my girls. I recently bought some Kaisercraft papers so decided to use these to scrap 2 photos of my wedding day. I added buttons, lace and bling from my stash. I absolutely love scrapbooking and am enjoying looking through hundreds of photos and  choosing which ones to include on my pages.

No time for Craftytime!

Evening all! Unfortunately I haven't had time for any crafting today as my daughter went to a party and then we took a family trip to the local farm shop. However I did manage to pop into Osbornes to pick up 2 new magazines so tonight I'll be watching BGT and The Voice and reading my magazines!

Happy 18th Birthday

Good evening all! Last night I managed to find some crafty time so I made an 18th birthday card for my mom's best friend's daughter. The papers are First Edition and I used a topper from the Hobby House. The wooden 18 was from Pink Tulip Creations and coloured with a Promarker. Ribbon, bling and name bunting added and the card was complete! Hope you all have a good evening.

Fabulous shoes

Hello everyone! Another busy week so I haven't been able to blog as much as I would like. Here is a card that I made last night for my friend's Mom using the Katy Sue Designs Fabulous Shoes CD. Although it's not clear in the photograph, the image is 3D (decoupaged). I love this artwork and just need to get new ink for my printer so that I can print out all of the different collections. I think I may need to purchase a bow maker as I'm still struggling to get them as neat as I would like. I am hoping to find some time to craft over the weekend so fingers crossed. x

Advent

Good evening! Hope you've all had a good day. I'm struggling to find time to craft at the moment so tonight I'm sharing with you a photograph of the advent calendar that I made for my Dad for Christmas. The jar boxes are made using a Sizzix die and Kanban card. In each one I put in some Celebrations chocolates and a picture of an old Birmingham City player (my Dad is a huge Blues fan!). My Mom has saved it so all I'll need to do this December is to refill the boxes. x

Memories

Good Morning, hope you are all having a nice weekend! Today as promised I am sharing a photograph of one of the first ever cards that I made. I remember feeling really proud of it but looking back now makes me cringe with embarrassment (no matting and layering and nowhere near enough bling for my current liking!). It is good to look back and see how your skills have developed over time. I started cardmaking about 5 years ago when I was on maternity leave with my first daughter. Who could have guessed that when I bought those first few crafty stash items that it would turn into my favourite hobby/addiction!

Strictly Party (again!)

Lately whenever I need to make a card and I am stuck for an idea I have resorted to using the 'Strictly Party' range from docrafts as it is versatile for all occasions and for all ages. Today's card is for one of my work friends who turns 50 next week (I'm hoping she doesn't look at my blog and see her card!). This is not a colour theme that I use often as pink is definitely my favourite but I am pleased with the end result and I hope she likes it! I'll be back tomorrow with a blast from the past, I was recently having a sort out and came across one of the first cards that I ever made so I'll post a photograph tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.

Birthday Mum

Hello all! We're back from a fabulous time at Butlins and my girls loved every second! We'll definitely be going there again. Today is my Mum's birthday and here is the card I made for her using the 'Fabulous Shoes' CD. My Mum loves shoes so as soon as I saw this collection I knew exactly when I would use it. The image is decoupaged and the papers and sentiment are also printed from the CD. I added a few pearl flourishes and the card was complete. I'm glad to report that she loved it! Hope you all have a good evening, I'll be back tomorrow with another card using the 'Strictly Party' range from docrafts.

Strictly Party

Hello everyone! Hope you have all had a good day. Today's post is a birthday card that I made for one of my best friend's using the docrafts 'Strictly Party' range. I know I've said it before but I love this range and have used it for lots of different occasions. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch and the flower is Prima. Added bling and the card is complete! I'm off to Butlins for a long weekend so I'll be back early next week with a new post. x

Anniversary wishes

Hello everybody. I was going to be a really good blogger and post everyday but last night I tried to log on and it wouldn't let me so here is the post that you should have seen yesterday. I had a great time at Hobbycraft and managed to pick up a few things for my friend's wedding invites. I just need to find some time now! They also had children's craft activities for the Easter holidays so my daughter made a decopatch box which she really enjoyed doing (I'm hoping she'll catch the crafty bug!). I have also managed to start a scrapbook page which I'm hoping to finish tomorrow so I will share it with you then.
Anyway, tonight's card was an order I received for a Silver Wedding Anniversary. I used paper from my stash and the stamp is from Woodware and coloured with Promarkers. The lettering is from a Sizzix die and no card of mine is complete without bling and flowers! Bye for now. x

Sugar Buttons Part 2

Hello all, I'm back tonight with the remainder of the cards that I made using the Sugar Buttons range. As I said yesterday, looking back at these cards I'm not that pleased with them and I find it much easier to make a card when I have a person in mind.

Tonight I've been to see one of my best friends who is getting married in November and she has asked me if I would make the wedding invitations. She has given me the theme and colour scheme and we have come up with an idea so I'm off to Hobbycraft tomorrow and I am hoping to make her some samples in the next few weeks. These will be the first wedding invitations I have made so wish me luck!

Sugar Buttons

Good afternoon, hope you are all having a happy Easter! Today I wanted to show you the cards I made a while back for a demonstration using the Sugar Buttons range from Kanban. I really liked this range when I first saw it but I think I'm going through one of those phases where you're not pleased with any of the cards that you make (I hope I'm not the only one who feels like this sometimes!). Sorry about the photo overload but I wanted to share them all to try and show the different products in the range so I'll be showing 6 cards tonight and I'll be back tomorrow with another 6. Hoping to find some crafty time this evening so fingers crossed I'll make a start on my scrapbook pages. Bye for now. x

Best Mum and Dad in the World!

I know I'm probably being biased but I have got the best Mum and Dad in the World so tonight I'm sharing a photograph of their 40th Wedding Anniversary card (apologies for the poor photograph!). Their anniversary is tomorrow so I hope they don't check out my blog tonight and spoil the surprise. The card is made using the docrafts Papermania Art Deco range. At first I didn't like this range as much as their 'Strictly Party' which I have used lots of times but this one is really growing on me and I am finding more and more occasions that it is suitable for. I am hoping to find a bit of time to craft tonight as I received a delivery today from Craft Island. I ordered lots of different 12x12 papers as I am hoping to get into scrapbooking too, wish me luck! Happy Easter!

Birthday Girls

Good evening everybody! I had a busy evening last night making 2 cards for my daughter to give to her friends. April is a very busy month for birthdays so I'll be making a lot more cards over the next week. I'm not sure where the images are from as I've had them a while and the papers are from my ever increasing stash. Tonight I have tidied up my craft stash and have found lots of things that I'd forgotten I had got (don't you just love it when that happens).
Anyway, I'm off to read my 2 new craft magazines and eat a bit more chocolate (well it is Easter!). Goodnight. x

Wedding Day!

Hello everybody! Hope you have all had a good day, I've now got 2 weeks off work so I'm very happy! Tonight's card is a wedding card for friends of a friend. I'm not sure on the colour scheme for the wedding so I decided to use neutral colours. The image is from the Digistamp Boutique and was coloured using Promarkers. Hoping to find lots of time to craft over the next fortnight as I have lots of projects started but have not had enough time to finish them. I'm off to watch tonight's Crafters Companion launch on Create and Craft. To buy or not to buy, that is the question?!

Birthday Card

Good evening all! Tonight I'm sharing a card that I recently made for a friend of a friend. It is sometimes difficult to make a card for someone that you don't know so I kept it simple with a butterfly theme using soft colours. The papers are from the docrafts Papermania 'Strictly Party' range which I love and have used lots since I bought it.

Tuesday 26 March 2013

Demo Day

Good evening! Apologies for posting photographs about Christmas but I wanted to show some of the cards that I made using Woodware stamps. I love Woodware stamps and am always spoilt for choice when they release new ranges. I occasionally demo for Osbornes Stationers and this was a demo day that I did at their Cotteridge shop. Unfortunately I didn't take any close up shots of the cards but I did manage to take a photograph of the table before all of the cards fell down!

Mother's Day Gift

Good afternoon all. Today I thought I would share with you the Mother's Day gift that I made for my mum. I used a box frame (from The Range) and created the heart using lots of flowers (punched from a Tonic punch). Most of the flowers are glued flat to the paper but some are raised with gems added in the centre. The letters are from a Sizzix alphabet die (I use this all the time so it won't be the first or last time I mention it!). Enjoy the rest of your day!

Pirate Joe

Four posts in one day must be a record for me but I am really going to try and get up to date and show all the cards that I have been making. This is a birthday card for my nephew who turned 4 last week. The image is from the Digistamp Boutique and coloured with Promarkers. The water is a Memory Box die which I had been contemplating buying for a while and when I came up with the idea for this card I knew I had to have it. I think it will be very useful and I am sure that you will see it on lots of cards and projects in the future. That's all for now, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share. x

Christmas Birthday

This is a card that I made for a friend's mother who has a Christmas Day birthday. I know that I am a bit late sharing it but with all this snow I didn't think that it was too inappropriate! It has felt a bit Christmassy over the last few days and they even started playing a Christmas song on the radio yesterday! The card was made using a precoloured topper from The Hobby House. I love these as they help to make a quick card look professional. The papers are from my stash and I can't complete a card without adding flowers or a bit of bling.

A very special birthday card

Here is the birthday card I made for my daughter's 5th  birthday back in November. The image is a Crafters Companion Toreads stamp coloured with Promarkers. The papers used are from my stash. The alphabet dies are from Sizzix and I use these all the time to personalise my cards. I might be back later to share some more cards.

Let's have a blog makeover!

Hello all! I cannot believe that my last blog post was July 2012!! Where has the time gone! I have still been indulging in my passion for papercraft but life has been very busy and I just haven't found the time to post my creations. Well I've decided that I'm going to try and update my blog on a regular basis (I know I've said this before) so I've given my blog a much needed makeover and will be back later with a few of the cards that I have made recently. Have a good day!
