I'm back!

Good evening everyone! I want to start by saying sorry that I've not updated my blog for over a week. There are personal reasons for this but I knew that I had some occasions coming up which needed cards so last night I sat and crafted for the first time this week. It is my Mom and Dad's wedding anniversary tomorrow so I made them this card using the newly released Woodware birdhouse stamp. The papers are from my stash and I've added ribbon which I purchased at the NEC and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also made a start on my Mom's 60th birthday card which I will share with you soon. Goodnight all. x

NEC trip!

Good evening all, hope everyone has had a nice day! I'm still not feeling great so I'm afraid there is no card again this evening but I just thought that I would check in and tell you about my trip to the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC today. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not feeling 100% but I was slightly disappointed with the show today. There didn't seem to be as many exhibitors there as usual and I actually only spent a third of what I did last time I went (at least my bank balance will be pleased!). I did pick up some basic craft stash such as ribbons, gems and card blanks along with a few bargain stamps and that was about all! Think I'm going to save my money and go along to Craft Palace in Sheldon which has a 20% off event on the 1st Sunday in April. They'll also have some demos happening so I'm going to pop along for some inspiration. My little girl is off to a birthday party on Sunday so I'd best get making a card! Speak to you tomorrow. x

Hello!

Hello! Unfortunately I haven't got a card to share with you this evening as I've been so busy and not had the opportunity to craft! I have managed to move most of my stash upstairs and just have one cupboard left to conquer! I'm off to the NEC tomorrow to the Hobbycraft show so I'm hoping to add to it! Sorry it's such a short  blog entry, things are a bit hectic at the moment! Hope to be able to share some creations with you very soon. x

Another Boofle card!

Good evening! Tonight I'm sharing with you the final card that I made at my class on Thursday evening. It's Boofle again but this time we used the stamp rather than decoupage. I must admit that I'm slightly disappointed with the stamps in this range as when stamped they do not show that Boofle is knitted! The image was coloured with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and we also used the Boofle button embossing folder. I love the ribbon we used and will definitely be buying some soon! The buttons are part of the Boofle range and come in a big bag for less than £4 which is a bargain (apparently they are now out of stock everywhere and not available from docrafts until May!). I'm glad I got mine at Osborne's Mega Craft Day! I did make some more Boofle decoupage last night and am also in the process of moving my craft stash from downstairs to upstairs (It may take a while!).
That's all for tonight, goodnight. x

Happy Mother's Day!

Firstly I would just like to say Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mums out there! I am having a lovely day and had lots of lovely pressies off the children. We're off to my mum's for lunch then to my nephew's birthday tea so I thought I'd better post my blog entry now as I might not get a chance later! So there is still a Boofle card to share with you that I made at my class on Thursday but I couldn't not share the Mother's Day card that I made for my Mum first. It is a Boofle decoupage card and unfortunately it doesn't photograph very well as I have used acetate on the front. The gorgeous bunting and twine is from a new range from Dovecraft called 'Tea Party' (I think you may be seeing a lot of this on my cards over the coming weeks). See you all tomorrow. x

All white wedding!

As promised, here's the all white wedding card that I made at a workshop on Thursday evening. I'm not sure where the wedding car is from but the flowers are from Kanban. I did buy some of these last week but couldn't get them to roll properly as I was using a small pencil and I need to get a proper pair of craft tweezers (another item to add to my shopping list for the NEC on Thursday!).
I will post a photograph of the Mother's Day card that I've made for my Mum tomorrow once she has opened it (it includes bunting and twine which I love!).
I have almost finished all the cards that I need to make for any upcoming occasions. I'm looking forward to having time to make cards using girly stamps which can be coloured (e.g. Lili of the Valley), lots of ribbons and flowers with glitter and sparkle!! I also need to get my sewing machine (that I had from my hubby for Xmas) out of the box and set up! I have been visiting lots of blogs and love stitching on cards. Unfortunately my 9 months of maternity leave are almost over and I'll be back teaching so I'm not sure where I'm going to find the time!
Happy Mother's Day to all you Mums out there, hope you all have a lovely relaxing day tomorrow! x

Mirror mirror on the wall!

Unfortunately after two weeks I have broken my resolution as I didn't post on my blog yesterday (!) but I did go to my card making workshop and complete 4 projects in 1 evening. I made a triple easel card using Hunkydory products which I have given to my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day (so no photograph unfortunately). So over the next 3 days I will share with you the other projects that I made starting with this mirror which is from Ikea (apologies for the poor photography, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't in the picture!). I used acrylic paint, an old docrafts stamp and embossing powder to decorate. I'm hoping to buy letter dies from the NEC next week so I may add my daughter's name onto it and put it in her room. (My other daughter is 8 months old and woke up this morning with chickenpox). The workshops are run by the craft manager of Osbornes and they are fab! Next month's project is a photo frame which I can't wait to make!
Here's a sneaky peek of the all white wedding card that I'll be sharing with you tomorrow:

Have a good evening all, I'm off to watch Benidorm! x

Mother's Day!

As promised last night, here's the card that I've made for the children to give to their Grandma on Mother's Day. It seems like I have used these new Woodware stamps loads since buying them but they just seem to fit the bill for the type of cards that I need to make at the moment.
I'm also going through all of my cardmaking magazine collection and making a scrapbook of any inspirational cards/projects for future reference and then sending the rest for recycling. I need to make room for my ever increasing craft stash and I think I will refer to them more if they are all in one book. I'm looking forward to making some cards for pleasure once I have ticked off all of my orders! x

Happy Birthday!

Good evening all! Here's the card I was talking about the other day where I stamped the sentiment (from Woodware) and paper pieced each letter using different patterned papers. I also used these papers for the background and added a few simple flowers and leaves using a Woodware punch. The card is for my Brother-in-Law's Mom so I hope she likes it! This evening I have also finished a card for my Mother-in-Law using the 'With Love' Woodware stamp so I will post some photos tomorrow. Off to watch the Papermania pick of the day on Ideal World. x

Birthday Fishes finished!

As promised last night, here's the finished birthday card using the downloaded images. I coloured them with Promarkers and used paper from my stash for the sky and fish-filled sea! I have personalised the card but kept the embellishments to a minimum. Hope you like it! Just a quick post as I'm hoping to get another card completed before bedtime which I can share with you all tomorrow. Bye for now! x

Birthday Fishes!

Hope you've all had a good day, we've had lots of sunshine so I took my 2 little girls to the park whilst hubby prepared the garden ready for the summer (which I hope is just around the corner!). So unfortunately I don't have a completed card to share with you this evening but I have just downloaded these images which are featured in the latest edition of Papercraft Inspirations. It's my father-in-law's birthday next week so I think these would be ideal, just need to print them out and magic them into a card! Wish me luck, speak to you all tomorrow. I'm off to watch Dancing on Ice and do some colouring! x

Boofle's thinking of you!

Today I've got a card to share with you for my sister-in-law to send to one of her friends (both are big fans of Boofle!). I have mounted the Boofle decouapge onto Dovecraft Back to Basics paper and embossed one of the pieces with the button embossing folder. I have added a circle sentiment which has been mounted onto paper and card and added my usual 'bling' gems! I've only got a couple of Boofle decouapge pieces left so I may have to buy some more and attempt some male cards with them (Boofle wearing his sunglasses is very cute!). I've made a list of all the cards that I need to make and I've managed to tick off 2 so far! I'm also working on a project for my Mom's 60th birthday in April. Busy times, but lots of fun! I'm also hoping to arrange some demos soon as this is something that I would love to do. Have a great afternoon, I'm off to a birthday party! x

Birthday wishes!

Good afternoon, an early but quick post from me today as I've got lots to do this evening!! Here is a birthday card I've made using another of the new Woodware stamps. Similar to the 'With love' stamp that I used a few days ago, I don't think you have to add much more to make it a simple yet effective card (I do find making male cards difficult as I usually love all the glittery and girly embellishments!). Last night, I also used this stamp with some Dovecraft Back to Basics paper and paper pieced each individual letter with different papers. I haven't made it into a card yet but hopefully I'll have time to do this over the weekend. Take care. x

It's Boofle again!

I don't know about anybody else but I'm just loving the new Boofle range from docrafts. The card I'm sharing with you this evening is made with another of the Boofle decoupage and I have used the fabric paper and button embossing folder again. (I really do like embossing folders at the moment, they are just so versatile!). The sentiment is also from the collection and I think 'with love and congratulations' could be sent for a number of different occasions. I may let Boofle have a night off and get out another Woodware stamp to play with. I've also got to write a list of all the cards I need to make over the next few weeks what with Mother's Day, Birthdays and Anniversaries.

Boofle's here!

At last I have finally got around to making my first card using the Boofle decoupage which has been sat on my kitchen table for a week! Recently I have been using acetate on cards but the only problem is that it doesn't photograph very well but I've tried my best! I have used the Boofle button embossing folder and the flower background is the adhesive fabric paper from the same range. I have added a few pink gems and used a Martha Stewart punch. Hoping to get another Boofle card made this evening before I make a start on a few birthday cards. Have a good evening! x

Happy Anniversary!

Good morning all! Today I have a card to share with you that I have made for a special couple who will soon be celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. The image is another new Woodware stamp which I have stamped and embossed with gold and then coloured using Promarkers (I'm still deciding whether to order some Spectrum Noirs from Crafters Companion!). The sentiment stamp is also part of the set and is a bargain at just £3.99! The backing papers are from a Papermania wedding pack and I have added some Prima flowers and leaves which have been punched out of kraft card using a Woodware punch. I have personalised the card with names using gold letters and a Martha Stewart heart border punch. Apologies again for the photographs, the lighting is poor but the card is in neutral and pink colours. My mom and dad's wedding anniversary is at the end of March too so this stamp may need to be re-inked later! Hoping to make a card later using the Boofle decoupage that has been sat on the kitchen table for almost a week but the footie is on (and I am a big BCFC fan!) so we'll have to see. Enjoy the rest of your day and please feel free to leave me a comment. x
