Better late than never!

OMG! I can't believe it's gone 11.30pm but I promised myself that I would try and post a blog entry every day so better late than never. The workshop packs are coming along nicely although embossing x 300 pieces of card and acetate = arm ache! The card I'm sharing with you tonight is for my nephew's 3rd birthday. I always struggle to make cards for males/boys as I just love pink and bling and can't add my usual embellishments. The image is Lili of the Valley coloured with Promarkers and the papers are from DCWV. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and I have added his name to the image to make it more personal. I managed to finish the Boofle decoupage last night (I finished at 12.30am) so I just need to make some cards with them now! I'm off to bed, I'll post another entry tomorrow. x

Sources of inspiration!

One thing I love is crafting with others and attending workshops (although I'm teaching my very first workshop this weekend, help!) so I thought I would share with you a project that I did at a workshop a few weeks ago. The project consisted of 4 cards and a bag, all made using Stampin' Up products. It was the first time I had used these products and I wasn't disappointed. I loved the colour scheme and the way that we decorated the envelopes to coordinate with the cards. Hope you like them, please feel free to post a comment. Tonight, I'm going to carry on preparing for my workshop (200 matting and layering cards cut last night) and hopefully get the opportunity to play with some of the gorgeous products from the new docrafts Boofle range (including self adhesive fabric paper - delish!). Back tomorrow, bye for now. x

Princess Birthday Wishes!

Good morning all! I managed to get another card completed last night after the Easter card. This is a personalised birthday card for a little girl and the image is a digistamp coloured with Promarkers. I also used my new Martha Stewart border punch again. Her birthday is still 2 weeks away so I hope she doesn't see this! Apologies again for the poor photography! Off to make a start on my 100 workshop packs that I need to make up. Hope you all have a good day. x

Some bunny loves you!

Finally, here's the finished Easter card which I have been trying to complete for the past few days. The Lili of the Valley image was already printed (and a freebie in a recent magazine) so I coloured it with Promarkers. The papers are from my stash and I have used my new Martha Stewart punches (border and butterfly). I keep looking at the card and I think I may have to add some sparkle to the butterflies (either gems or Stickles). The 3D daffodils were a Papermania sale item and match perfectly with the little bunny amongst the flowers. This is not my usual colour scheme but sometimes it's good to work outside of your comfort zone (I usually like pinks/purples!). Well I'm off to try and get a birthday card finished before bed, night all! x

Oops! It's still on the kitchen table!

Good evening, hope you've all had a good day. Unfortunately a busy day has resulted in my half created Easter card lying unfinished on the kitchen table. Luckily I made this card a while back so I thought I would share it with you all! I am going to try and start to add the names of all the crafty stash used in my creations. This is another Lili of the Valley image and the flowers (with added Stickles) are from the marvellous Wild Orchid Crafts. On my recent cards I have inked the edges of many of the papers with Tim Holtz distress inks and I think this card would have looked better if I had done this, never mind there is always the next card!! Hope to have some new cards to share with you all soon. x

Not what I had planned!

Evening all! I was planning to share my first Easter card with you this evening but unfortunately it is lying on the kitchen table unfinished, oops! Hopefully I'll manage to finish it tomorrow and take some photos before the light fades. It's a good job I had this card saved which I made a few weeks ago. Another Lili of the Valley stamp(!) and pretty butterflies. I enjoy making these stepper cards and hope to make another one over the weekend for a little girl's birthday. Must dash, got colouring and sticking to do! Have a good evening. x

Special Delivery!

I love Lili of the Valley stamps and this one is no exception! The new releases are also gorgeous and I'm hoping to add these to my shopping list for the NEC in March. I know I keep saying it but apologies for the very poor photographs, I didn't get around to taking the photograph until after 8pm and by then there was no natural light. Roll on the long summer nights! I also need to improve my colouring, in particular shading/blending. I'm hoping to book myself on a course soon. That's all for tonight, I'll be back tomorrow with another post. x

Bargain time!

Look what I stumbled across in Poundworld today! 4 small canvases for £1, what a bargain! We used similar to this in the Tim Holtz workshop at the weekend (I'm sure they were much more expensive) so I thought I would buy them and have a little play. Good friends of my Mom and Dad are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary soon (what an achievement) so I'm going to make them a wall hanger (I think that's what they're called!). I'll post some photographs when I've made it. x

Thanks 'Sew' Much!

Good Morning all! Today's card has been made using freebies from the latest Simply Homemade magazine. I don't very often use free gifts as soon as they arrive but when I saw these little mice I knew I had to ink up the stamps straight away. As the theme is sewing, I chose to patchwork the free papers and ink them around the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink. I added Glossy Accents and a button to the flower and wrapped embroidery thread around the cotton reel to add dimension. Apologies again for the poor photographs, it is raining and the light is not very good. Hope you all have a good day!

Exciting news!

Wow! I've just been asked by a good friend if I would like to teach a workshop to 100 people!!! (Not all at once I hasten to add, I will probably teach the same workshop about 8 times). How exciting! My profession is teaching in childcare not card making so this is a great opportunity. I made a 'Thank You' card a few weeks ago with an embossing folder and used this with acetate which created a really nice effect (especially once all the glitter was added). It is currently displayed in my friend's craft shop so I'm going there tomorrow so that I can remember how I made it. Then I just need to emboss onto acetate 100 times to make up the packs ready for the workshop! Wish me luck, ha ha! I'll post some photographs soon. That's all for now, join me tomorrow when I will hopefully have a card to share with you. x

Tim Holtz Workshop - Part 2!

The second half of the workshop was led by Dyan Reaveley using a new range of products from Dylusions. I've looked at this project every day since I did it and I'm still not sure about it! It's an altered book using brightly coloured spray inks and the title of my book just happened to be 'Self Help' (maybe Sir Tim was trying to tell me something!) . It was VERY messy and 3 days later the evidence is still on my hands! I would be interested to hear what others think about this art medium.

Tim Holtz Workshop!

Good evening all! Hope you've all had a good day! I've eaten too many pancakes and am now sat watching the Brits. As promised yesterday, here are the photographs from the Tim Holtz workshop I went to on Saturday (I'm even in one of the photographs on his blog). Sir Tim(!) led the first workshop which involved using 2 small canvases to create a wall hanging. I loved this project as we got to use the new Distress Markers (we were also allowed to keep them so I have started my collection with 6 of them in my craft stash). I was a bit disappointed with the result achieved with the distress markers but I'm hoping this will improve with practice. I'm not sure they will replace my beloved Promarkers just yet! Apologies for the very poor photographs, this is something I definitely need to work on! x

Hello Blogland!

OMG! It's been 3 months since I last posted an entry onto my blog but I have made a New Year's resolution to become a regular blogger (Yes I know it's mid February but better late than never!!). I have had THE most amazing crafty weekend. On Saturday I was a very lucky girl and took part in a Tim Holtz workshop with the man himself!! He is truly inspirational and very down to earth. Even during the workshop he walked around with a bin bag to collect the rubbish! I'll post the pics soon! Then on Sunday I went to Craft Hobby and Stitch International at the NEC in Birmingham. I saw many popular craft people and had a fun time looking at all the new craft stash that is being released. My wish list is very long and I may need to win the lottery to afford it all. I also managed to get a few freebies so I will be making some cards over the next few days. It's great to be back and I'll be visiting blogs and posting comments soon. I'll be back tomorrow with the workshop photos. Thanks for visiting. x
